Maryam Nawaz hints at de-seating Senate chairman


Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday hinted at de-seating incumbent Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.
Addressing a presser here in the Lahore, Maryam stated that she had held discussions with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman, on de-seating Sanjrani.
Taking a jibe at ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Maryam stated that ostensibly, it seems that they (read PTI) has not yet digested victory of Khawaja Saad Rafique.
Replying to a question, Maryam added that crux of the recent discussions will be brought in to all-parties conference. On question about high-powered commission, Maryam stated that she couldn’t fathom including state-institutions in high-powered commission constituted to probe misuse of loans taken in past ten years.
“All institutions have representation in Economic Coordination Committee and National Security Council”, added Maryam.
Accusing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of biasness, Maryam claimed that the premier anti-graft watchdog lodge cases on basis of association with political outfits.
