Peace in Afghanistan is Washington's highest priority, says Pompeo

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says peace in Afghanistan is Washington's highest priority but it has not yet agreed on any timeline to withdraw its forces from that country.
He said this after his meetings with Afghan leadership in Kabul during a brief stopover on his way to New Delhi.
He said all sides agree that finalizing a US-Taliban understanding on terrorism and foreign troop presence will open the door to intra-Afghan dialogue.
Pompeo hoped that a peace deal would be possible before first of September this year.
