US says troops withdrawn from Syria not staying in Iraq

US Defence Secretary Mark Esper has denied that the US troops withdrawn from neighboring syria will stay in Iraq.

During a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi in Baghdad, Mark Esper said the United States is committed to support Iraq and respect its national sovereignty.

He said the US forces withdrawing from Syria toward Iraq enter and withdraw from Iraqi territory with the permission and approval of the Iraqi government.
