Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said the completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project will usher in a new era of progress and development in the region.
Talking to Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing in Islamabad on Thursday, he said a CPEC authority has been established for timely completion of corridor related projects.
He said the special economic zones will soon be established. He said the second phase of CPEC focuses on industrialization and socio economic development.
The Foreign Minister said that Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC will improve connectivity and bring people closer together.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan-China friendship has become a great example of success of this era.
The Foreign Minister noted that the cordiality and understanding that exists between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Imran Khan is a guarantor of development not only for the two countries but the whole region.
The Chinese Envoy said Pakistan is trusted friend of China and it provides route to important regions. He said improved connectivity is the hallmark of the CPEC.
