WHO warns against coronavirus over-reaction as death toll in China neared 1,900

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned against a global over-reaction to the coronavirus epidemic as death toll in China neared 1,900 on Tuesday.

WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters in Geneva measures should be taken proportional to the situation as blanket measures may not help.

WHO has stressed that the disease has infected a "tiny" proportion of people outside its epicenter and the mortality rate remains relatively low.
