China has passed a security law giving it new powers over Hong Kong. It says the law is needed to tackle separatist activity, subversion, terrorism and collusion with foreign elements and rejects criticism as interference in its affairs. Meanwhile, China has decided to impose visa restrictions on US individuals who have acted maliciously on issues relating to Hong Kong.
