Trump denies being briefed on alleged Russian-Taliban bounties intelligence

US President Donald Trump has said that he was never briefed on intelligence that Russians offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants for killing US troops. In a tweet, he said nobody including Vice President Mike Pence and Chief of Staff Mark Randall Meadows briefed about the so-called attacks on our troops in Afghanistan by Russians as reported by the News York Times.
In an interview, Trump's former National Security Adviser John Bolton said Trump's tweet indicated his fundamental focus is not the security of our forces. In an interview, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also expressed concern that some officials may have avoided bringing the issues to the President.
