China suspends Hong Kong extradition treaties with Canada, Australia, UK

China has announced the suspension of Hong Kong's extradition treaties with Canada, Australia and Britain after similar decisions by those countries. Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday said the wrong action of Canada, Australia and the UK in politicizing judicial cooperation with Hong Kong has seriously hurt the basis of judicial cooperation. The spokesman said China has also decided to suspend all criminal justice cooperation agreements.
