UNSC adopts resolution calling for pandemic-related halt to conflicts

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) through a unanimously adopted resolution has urged all parties to armed conflicts to immediately engage in a humanitarian pause for three months in the face of COVID-19 pandemic. The council demanded a general and immediate cessation of hostilities in all situations on its agenda. The council made the demand in order to enable delivery of humanitarian assistance, provisions of related services, and medical evacuations.
