ILO warns Covid-19 pandemic having devastating effect on education, training of youth

The International Labour Organization has warned the coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating effect on the education and training of youth. According to a recent report of ILO, 65 percent of young people have reported learning less since the pandemic began, citing the transition from the classroom to online and distance learning, during the lockdown. The report highlighted large digital divides between regions saying the 65 percent of youth in high-income countries were taught via video-lectures, but, only 18 percent in low-income countries were able to maintain their studies online.
