UNSC to reject US demand to extend sanctions against Tehran: Iran envoy

Iran has expressed the hope that the UN Security Council (UNSC) will once again reject the United States' demand to extend sanctions against Tehran. Speaking at a press briefing in New York, Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi said the US has withdrawn from the 2015 Nuclear Deal and thus has no legal standing to accuse Iran of not complying with it. Meanwhile, the United States submitted a letter in the UN to extend all sanctions on Iran which will expire in October this year.
