Car bomb blast kills eight in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, at least eight people have been killed and 53 injured in a powerful car bomb blast in Herat province. A spokesman for the provincial hospital Rafiq Sherazi said 14 houses also destroyed in the blast. No group has claimed responsibility. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council at a press briefing in New York condemned an “alarming” increase in attacks in Afghanistan targeting civilians.
