Ministry of Human Rights launches report on status of aged persons in Pakistan

Ministry of Human Rights has launched a comprehensive report on the status of aged persons in Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Human Rights, the report titled "Moving from the Margins: Promoting and Protecting the Rights of Older Persons in Pakistan" has been launched in collaboration with the British Council and HelpAge International.
Authored by Professor Asghar Zaidi, Senior Fellow at the University of Oxford, the report delves deep into the current state of human rights of the elderly people in Pakistan.
Addressing the launch ceremony, Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights, Rabiya Javeri Agha said Pakistan's culture and religion gives deference to the elderly.
Speaking on the occasion, Country Director British Council Rosemary Hilhorst called for creating an age friendly environment addressing this issue by working together in order to improve access to economic opportunities for all aged people.
