Fresh violence leaves 28 persons dead in Iraq

In Iraq, twenty eight people were killed while dozens others injured in a fresh wave of protests in the southern city of Nasiriya and Baghdad today.
According to reports, 24 people were killed when troops opened fire on demonstrators who blocked a bridge in the southern city of Nassiriya.
Four others were killed in capital Baghdad, where security forces opened fire with live ammunition and rubber bullets against protesters near a bridge over the Tigris River.
The demonstrators also stormed and torched an Iranian consulate overnight.
They have been taking to the streets to demand more jobs, an end to corruption, and better public services.
