Coronavirus death toll rises to 57,000 across the world

The number of officially confirmed deaths from the coronavirus have crossed fifty-seven thousand across the world. According to a tally compiled by AFP, over 1,082,470 declared cases have been registered in 188 countries since the pandemic first emerged in China.

Of these cases, at least 205,400 are now considered recovered. In this data, Italy leads with 14,681 deaths followed by Spain with 10,935, China 3,322 deaths and France reported 6,507 deaths.
