Millions of children affected by devastating flooding in South Asia: UN

United Nation says millions of children are affected by devastating flooding with many more at risk as COVID-19 brings further challenges in South Asia. In a Press release, UNICEF Regional Director for South Asia Jean Gough said weeks of torrential monsoon rains, widespread flooding and deadly landslides in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal have affected millions of children and families. She said over 700 people have died and dozens are missing in across the four countries, with continuing reports of children drowning. Jean Gough said the COVID-19 pandemic and containment and prevention measures add an additional complication to the mix, as Coronavirus cases are accelerating in some of the affected areas.
