China has called for a resumption of peace talks between Israel and Palestine on equal-footing without any delay. Addressing a Security Council meeting on the Middle East, China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Geng Shuang said his country welcomes the initiative of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to convene an international peace conference early next year.
