United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in society, including in COVID-19 response and recovery. Addressing a Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, he stressed the need to effectively address the obstacles, injustices, and discrimination that this population experiences. UN Chief further emphasized that securing the rights of persons with disabilities is necessary for upholding the values and principles underlined in the UN charter.
