UN rights body calls on Myanmar to release Suu Kyi

The United Nations human rights body has called on Myanmar to release Aung San Suu Kyi and other officials and to refrain from using violence on people protesting against the military coup. The 47-member Geneva forum adopted a resolution in this regard brought by Britain and the European Union. Meanwhile, protests are continuing in almost all major cities, where people from all walks of life including civil servants, doctors, and students are participating in these protests in support of ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
