The Middle East Quartet of mediators including the United States, Russia, the European Union, and the United Nations have decided to revive meaningful negotiations between Israel and Palestine to reach a two-state solution. In a statement following their meeting, the quartet said both Israel and Palestine need to refrain from unilateral actions that make a two-state solution difficult to achieve.
