Myanmar security forces kill 34 protesters

In Myanmar, the army in its severest crackdown against anti-coup protesters killed at least 34 people in the various cities. This is the highest death toll since the military takeover on 1st February. The gory incident is described as the bloodiest day by the UN which occurred the day after the neighboring countries called for restraint. The protesters were demanding the end of military rule, restoration of the elected government, and release of countries' elected government leaders - including Aung San Suu Kyi - who was overthrown and detained in the coup.
