NATO foreign ministers to hold talks in Brussels


A two-day NATO foreign ministers meeting will begin in Brussels today (Tuesday)to discuss the alliance's strategy for the future. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the ministers will discuss the military alliance’s 2030 strategy to be adopted later this year.

According to the secretary-general, the ministers will assess the situation and the alliance’s role in Afghanistan and Iraq. Stoltenberg said that NATO allies strongly support efforts to infuse fresh energy into the peace process. He said that allies will continue consultations on the situation in Afghanistan and will take stock of NATO’s support for key partners in the Middle East and North Africa.
