258 Taliban killed in clashes with Afghan forces


In Afghanistan, 258 Taliban fighters have been killed in fierce clashes with government forces in thirteen provinces. In a statement, Afghan Defense Ministry said these operations were carried out in Nangarhar, Laghman, Paktia, Zabul, Herat, Farah, Ghor, Faryab, Balkh, Jawzjan, Helmand, Takhar, and Baghlan provinces.  According to reports, the government forces evacuated Shirin Tagab district in Faryab and Dahana-e-Ghori district in Baghlan. On the other hand, the Taliban captured an Afghan National Army base in Maidan Wardak Province.
