G20 countries vow more COVID-19 support to poorer nations

The G-20 group of countries has decided to provide financial assistance and vaccines to contain the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the poorest countries. The decision was taken at a two-day health ministerial meeting, which was held in Rome with Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza in the chair, to discuss a strategy for tackling the pandemic. Later, addressing a press conference, Roberto Speranza said that there is a political commitment to distribute vaccines to the entire world. He said that by working together we can guarantee a fair distribution of the vaccines that can protect us from the spread of COVID-19. In a joint communique, the participants agreed to disseminate a strong message of cooperation, solidarity, and justice that nobody should be left behind.
